Fort Kochi
Malabar House

The Malabar House is not just another Cochin hotel, it is a documented part of Fort Cochin's & Kerala's historical fabric. Its history dates back to 1755, when Jan Herman Clausing, a Dutch, bought the property from Mathew Henrich Beyls. Subsequently owned by spice traders, tea traders & bankers, in 1996 it became Fort Cochin's first boutique heritage hotel.
The Malabar House is more than a highly designed heritage hotel. It is an art hotel, home of a carefully curated collection, highlighting Kerala's composite culture as a passage between east and west.
The Malabar House is the perfect entry point for a Kerala holiday. We not only offer a good night's sleep, we offer you an array of experiences tailor made for the discerning traveller or small, culture oriented groups like museum tours. This includes heritage, art, design, music & dance, ayurvedic treatments and the acclaimed fine dining. We are member of Relais & Chateaux, an exclusive association of small luxury hotels & restaurants, driven by their sense of hospitality, originality and unparalleled authenticity.
